Compare · Generic QMS
Accorda compared with a generic quality management system.
A general-purpose quality management system can be made to fit a care provider. The question is how much of the fitting you want to do yourself, and who keeps it current when the rules change.

What a generic system is
A generic quality management system is a toolkit: document control, forms, workflows and registers that can be configured for a manufacturer, a law firm or a disability provider alike. Its strength is flexibility. Its cost is that the configuration is yours to design, and the standards it is checked against are whatever you load into it.
For a provider with an in-house quality team and time to build, that can work. For most NDIS, aged care, allied health and childcare providers, the people doing compliance are also doing everything else.
What being built for the sector means
Accorda is built NDIS first, calibrated to the NDIS Practice Standards, and the same system fits aged care, allied health, childcare, medical, dental and trades. The registers a regulator expects, incidents with reportable ones flagged, complaints, risks, credentials and licences, are there on the first day rather than designed in a workshop. Internal audit walks through the Practice Standards question by question in plain English, with the evidence to look for spelled out.
The AI review checks each policy against the frameworks for your sector and flags gaps. Regulatory Radar draws regulatory changes for your sector and state from official sources and links each one to the policies it affects. In a generic system, watching the regulator is a job somebody has to be given.
- Registers and workflows shaped to Australian care standards, not configured from scratch
- Policy review against your sector’s frameworks, with a person approving every change
- Regulatory changes for your sector and state, linked to your policies
- Evidence packs that assemble policies, sign-offs, training and incidents in one click
Where a generic system may fit better
If your organisation already runs a certified quality system across several unrelated business lines, or needs workflows that have nothing to do with care compliance, a general tool may be the right centre of gravity, with Accorda alongside it for the compliance records. We would rather say so than win a comparison we should not.
Accorda does not handle claims, billing or rostering either. It works alongside those tools, not instead of them.
Set-up, honestly
Accorda walks you through five short steps the first time you sign in, and you can stop and come back. Drag in the policies you already have, paste your team out of a spreadsheet, and say who signs what. If you would rather we set it up, optional white-glove setup is available. Records are hosted in Australia, isolated per customer, and exportable at any time.
FAQ
Straight answers.
Is Accorda a certified quality management system?
Accorda is a compliance and incident management system for Australian care and service providers. Whether a particular certification or standard applies to your organisation, and what evidence it needs, is a question for your regulator or certifying body.
Can we configure our own registers and forms?
The registers a care provider needs are built in: policies, sign-offs, training, incidents, complaints, risks, credentials and internal audits. Within them you control who sees what, with per-feature access for managers and staff. Accorda is not a blank workflow builder, and we think that is the point.
What happens to our data if we leave?
Your records are yours. Export your data whenever you like; there is no lock-in. After a trial ends without a plan, the account becomes read-only and the records are not deleted.
